ANTONIO PAOLO MALZONE
Tony Malzone is an Arts & Entertainment Producer, Manager, and Owner. He produces, manages, and is a partner both financially and creatively on films, shows, talent, and other ventures in the arts & entertainment industry. Tony says, "A human is the greatest art form, and the human experience is the greatest story." Tony's work amplifies the beauty in the human art form, and enhances the experience of our story.
​Tony's career started in finance, particularly community development finance, where he worked on behalf of government programs to deploy capital for business resiliency during the pandemic. This followed Tony's academic work, where he took an interest in human development and was fascinated by how finance could change outcomes, and media can shape perceptions. He later took a break from those interests to embark on a much larger journey that he deeply yearned for. He was inspired to serve, and he joined the AmeriCorps. In the AmeriCorps, he became a U.S. Forest Service Sawyer and a wilderness first responder on a conservation corps chainsaw crew. Out there in the backcountry, he began to write more and become more in tune with the beauty and art all around us in the story of our world. This led him to work on the development of a mini-documentary series, to be distributed with a major studio, to tell those extraordinary stories from all around our world, because he realized it's those simply extraordinary stories that entertain us, and truly enhance our human experience. This project ultimately did not come to fruition, but it catapulted his career to the center of entertainment and production, uniquely following in his grandfather's footsteps, who spent his whole career in television. Shortly thereafter, he began financing and managing creative projects and working on the set of productions. During that time, he had the privilege of working with a number of celebrity partners such as The Kardashian Family, Selena Gomez, and Kelly Clarkson. He has financed projects starring Morgan Freeman, William Shatner, Nicolas Cage, and Anne Hathaway and is associated with companies whose clients include Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Zach Bryan, Sabrina Carpenter, Coachella, and Stagecoach Festivals. He has also become associated with many other projects in arts & entertainment, including SoniMalzone with his long-time friend Jay Soni, whom Tony credits as his original creative partner. Today, Tony’s love for talent, story, and the world is prevalent in everything that he does. He's honored to have had the privilege of working with some of the greatest talents of today, and he looks forward to continuing to produce extraordinary creative stories, and those, "You just had to be there" moments.
A human is the greatest art form, and the human experience is the greatest story. Humanity has defined creativity, and it is our creativity that defines us. Creativity has made us the most advanced species our world has ever known. It’s enhanced our human experience to know no bounds other than those of our own imagination.
When we think of eras past, it's not the mundane that survives our memory; it's the progressive leaps in innovation and society. The bold statements in fashion, music, and film. The enshrining of significance in physical art, architecture, and the groundbreaking discoveries that open new worlds. One day, when everyone of today is no longer around, what will remain is what we did here, what we made here. For some, there will be a day when their name is said for the last time, when the last memory of them is revisited, that is when someone truly dies. But for the ones who create, the ones who build, the ones who discover, those are the ones with a line written in our great big story, and those are the ones that live forever. As we live now, there’s much pain in this world, that’s not a commentary on the world at its current state, but rather a statement of humanity. Humans are emotional creatures; we will feel pain. We will feel love. And we will feel happiness. My hope is that creative work can be the light of someone’s day, their week, or something even more significant. Although art and entertainment can sometimes feel like a silly game, and in many ways, it is. What we do means something. Stand in the back of a comedy club or a music venue. Take in the sounds, watch the people’s faces. That person up there, up on that stage, that person’s making them laugh, that person’s making them smile. That means a lot more than people realize. That crowd out there is a billion unique stories. They've cried a billion tears, harbor a billion fears, and they've got the weight of a billion lifetimes on their shoulders. That laughter, that smile, that may mean more to them than we could ever know. There is a magic to that.
The earliest humans to walk our Earth lived a perilous and grueling existence, yet the idea of creating art and the idea of entertaining one another still meant something to them. This very fact tells us a lot about what it means to be human. The complex ideas of expression and beauty are a deep-seated part of our human development, and are core to symbolic thought, communication, and spiritual beliefs. The job of making people laugh, the job of making people smile, the job of creating is one of the most important and pivotal roles in the story of our existence. From early humans, to the great empires, and to the modern day, art and entertainment has always pushed the bounds of what we once thought possible, and will continue to enhance our human experience in ways beyond even our own imagination. To have the privilege and opportunity of building a career in this space means something to me, and my hope is that it can mean so much more to our world. I truly believe it is one of the most noble pursuits. I have been given a great opportunity, and with great pride, I am going to do everything I can to leave the world just a little bit happier, a little bit freer, and a little bit fuller. I promise.
